Create
Your Own Ring Tones The first thing you need is an
MP3 file that you want to use for the ring tone. If you
have a CD then you need to rip that CD to an mp3 file.
Ripping a file does not mean that you are stealing the file it
simply means that you are compressing the file (Making it
smaller) so that you can fit more songs into a smaller
space. If you do not have any ripping software I suggest
CEDEX
software it is free and works quite well. This software
will not actually do the compression you will need another
file to do that called lame and that can be downloaded
here.
When you open Cdex it will ask where lame is and all you
need to do is point the program to where ever you downloaded
it. Now you are ready to rip the song you need for the
ring tone.
Next you will need Audacity It's a very useful tool
and will also need to be pointed to the same lame
folder. Now watch the video--- sorry there is no sound
but you will get the idea!
